This land is your land...even with all the annoying people in it.

Mariposa Grove holds some of the Great Sequoia's you have probably seen pictures of. They are really neat. We decided to get up early (or our bodies have not adjusted to the time change) and drive to see these trees.

I of course thought this would be a great opportunity to sing to Mike so he heard many verses of "This Land is Your Land". You know that whole thing about redwood forests, gulf stream waters, New York Islands. Mike sure does love when I sing to him, and who wouldn't?

When we arrived at the Grove there were only three cars there. Some annoying Germans who we saw at breakfast and a couple from Florida. They started to walk up the trail with us and only stayed for some of the tree viewing. We pretty much were sick of them when they made their typical Southerner comment -- "Who wouldn't want to get out of New York City?"

So we trekked the four miles up to see the Grove and it was freaking Awesome. It was all up hill but it was worthy of the pain in my legs. Those trees do not disappoint. Strangely, it was just us on the trails again and we didn't see people until we headed down. All of the sudden the trails were full of annoying tourists. Not savvy, sexy tourists like Mike and I. They were stepping over the roped off sections of the trees, throwing snow balls at each other, and generally being annoying. This just proves the point that I hate most people.

But here are some pics that you will enjoy taken by two sexy, savvy tourists.
