Being too "Bear Aware"
Today I realized that I might stress about things too much. Because every where I walk here in Yosemite I see signs to be "Bear Aware", I was basically sure as I hiked through the trails that there were a team of trained attack bears lurking in the shadows ready to eat me alive. Every deer or burnt tree stump I saw made me jump about 4 feet high. At one point, I saw some one inch in diameter tracks in the snow and pretty much sure we were marching into the bear's trap. Mike explained to me that if we do see a bear I should take a wide stance and charge at him. Right. The is exactly what I would do. Right after I drop to the ground in the fetal position, crap my pants and cry like a two year old for my Mommy. At one point a was enjoying a great conversation with Mike about how much better I am than his Ex (one of my favorite conversations to have) and I became bear unaware. It was very enjoyable to not be bear aware.

I feel your pain & wish I could become rat unaware.
